Coronavirus Day 2: 3/18/2020

Today there are 218,768 cases of COVID-19 and 8,945 deaths by it in the world. There are 9,269 cases in the U.S. and 152 deaths so far. Today my dad, an aerospace engineer, had to announce that his plant will be closed next week. Because nobody is flying, the parts aren't being sold. The coronavirus could lead to a worldwide recession. Quarantines and travel restrictions are more severe than death and illness to the economy. Leaders around the world are being criticized for "mishandling" the virus and allowing cases to increase. This could cause a decrease in popularity in the people. Today a lady in my neighborhood was interviewed by Live 5 News; she is awaiting test results for the coronavirus. She is quarantined in her house and is posting updates on Facebook. Many people in my neighborhood are now worried. A lot of my brother and my friends aren't allowed to play. I really hope that they stop this virus soon.
